Review of the cinematic version of "The Halfblood Prince"

Knowing that these versions of books always leave out many details that we readers love in our favorite books, I was still rather happy to have seen this offering. I enjoyed it more than the previous one. It seemed to retain more of the "magical" elements that make the Potter series entertaining.

Hello humans enjoy "The Deathbed Rebel"........

Thank you all for your marvelous stories. Mortals have such a canny knack for entertaining us. Here is the correct version of Beedle's hidden work. The House of Black had the right idea:

A charlatan owned an inn with his granddaughter, who was a very powerful witch. By presenting himself as a kindly old man he became quite rich off of others. Even though of questionable morals, he was a friend to all. Many a peasant enjoyed the hospitality and service at his inn by way of his granddaughter who really ran the place. Her magic was responsible for doing the household chores.
He employed two lackeys. They were as greedy as they were lazy. Even though they were paid ten times what the going rate was, they still plotted to get the charlatan's wealth.
A traveler with a murderous disposition heard of the wealthy innkeeper. He decided to see if he could swindle the swindler out of some of his money. He ran into a wheat field and used the soil there the make himself appear as a peasant and look as poor as possible.
When he arrived at the inn he was made to feel most welcome. The drifter made sure to befriend the two lackeys. Once everyone retired for the evening, he stayed up and contacted the two servants to enlist their aid with his plot.
He offered to share any stolen monies with them if they assisted him in his evil plan. The plan was quite simple. When the lackeys prepared their master's meal the next day, they were to slip in some poisonous toad stool. As the old charlatan loved mushroom soup, this would be quite easy. The granddaughter would then be to busy trying to cure her dying grandfather to notice them embezzling the funds from the inn right under her nose.
The plan went almost perfectly. The granddaughter was a bit curious that both servants took pains to make sure the soup for their master was cooked just right. That night for supper, the innkeeper ate his meal not suspecting what had been added. Almost at once he became deathly ill. The poison was designed to be slow so as to enable the miscreants to steal as much money as they could.
All through the night the old charlatan moaned and suffered. His granddaughter was besides herself. He told her not to worry. He had always been a rebel and would not stop so just because he was on his deathbed. He then asked her to go to the nearby mountain top and bring back some snow to ease his burning stomach. She was not sure what to do. Should she stay and tend to her grandfather or go get the snow he requested. In the end she opted for the mountain. In her haste to get the snow she left her wand.
It took a full day to reach the nearest snow capped peak. It was only then that she realized that she had forgotten her wand. Desperately she scooped up snow and raced down the mountain. With no wand to use she was unable to magically keep the snow from melting. By the time she reached the inn, all she had was some very cold clear water.
To make matters worse, when she returned the evil drifter and the lackeys were just making off with the last of the inn's money. They laughed and mocked the granddaughter for her futile efforts and confessed to what they had done. The murderous vagabond even broke her wand in front of her as he left.
Heartbroken and with nothing left to do she took the ice water to her grandfather who drank it down greedily. She apologized for the fact that it was not snow and told him of what his servants had done. He told her not to fret about it then closed his eyes in sleep. Exhausted by her efforts, the granddaughter too, fell into a deep sleep.
She awoke the next morning to find her grandfather on the mend. Over the next week he got better and better. Once he was himself he set about the tasks of the inn with his granddaughter's help.
She asked him why he did not pursue the evil servants and the drifter to exact justice. His reply was that he felt that money to be cursed. Besides they were unable to steal his greatest wealth and that was the love his granddaughter had for him. Love like that is a powerful protective charm that can not be bought no matter how wealthy a man is.
But the granddaughter was not completely at ease. She still worried about the money they had lost. He reassured her that they would do more business than ever now that they could sell healing spring water from the top of the mountains.
She reminded him that he had said it was her love that provided the cure.
He told her that that was correct, but that the folks buying his water did not need to know that. It seems that love cured his sickness, but not his tendency to stretch the truth.

The Warlock's Hairy Heart

Long ago there lived a very clumsy wizard. As he walked along a path he discovered a grotesque, hairy heart. The wizard decided that he shouldn't touch it. He walked around it and kept going on his way. He felt a sharp pain in the back of his leg and he looked behind him. He saw that the hairy heart was following him. The wizard began to run, but he tripped on a banana peel and fell on his face. The heart started bouncing and biting on the wizard. He got up and ran all the way home. As he opened his front door he found the hairy heart in his own house! The hairy heart started knocking things over and beating the wizard's dogs up. When he tried to stop it it kept on biting him. The clumsy wizard grabbed his wand and tried an electrocuting spell on the heart. He missed. He tried several more times, but he set his own house on fire. The hairy heart caught on fire too. So the wizard extinguished the fire with a spell, "Aguamenta!" This time it worked. The fire took the rowdiness away from the hairy heart and he lived peacefully with the clumsy wizard for the rest of his life.

Professor G!  So glad to see you on board!  Hogwarts West is such an important venue!  Would that I were not in the field, I would be by your side at the important training of these young individuals.  I must say the tracking and recording of the histories of the many tribes of Faerie is time consuming indeed.  Were it  not for the help and assistance of Polychrome and her Time Turner I would be lost forever.  (We all know that 'TIME" in the Fay World is nothing like the "TIME" we know from day to day, whereas it would have taken me 100 years to 1 day our time to analyze the King Oberon and Queen Tatiana line of Fay History)  Thanks to Polychrome and her Time Turner skills I have done it in one week.  Thanks to her skills and Time Turner help, I have been able to accomplish some information gathering closer to my home.  I have been in Flagstaff, Az!  I am researching the Ancient Line of 'The Little People'.  According to a little known painting in the Phoenix Art Museum, there is a record of an Indian offering that shows a tribe of Indian leaving small moccasin and doll like offerings to the 'Little People'  could this be any other folk than Faerie...?  After a full day of Faerie hunting I am off to Macy's Coffee shop for some organic tea and muffinry.  I hope to be able to visit all the Hogwarts West attendees before summer is out!  I hear a shirt has been ordered at my behest!  I am all a Twitter!!!

Soon but not soon enough!
Professor Bijou

I'm Sorry, but I Could Not Resist the Temptation to Post Here.

Sometimes it seems that I do not grasp the concept that just because I could doesn't mean I should, so here I am.
I'm so sorry.
Anyway, I'm speaking for the Plasmic Porkers (unless this is a bad thing to do, in which case I am a Martian) and saying "Howdy" to all of the mysterious other teams out there. (Actually, no one in my group says howdy, but I digress.) As the self proclaimed leader of my team, I just wanted to make sure that all of you in the other class knew who we are. *Dramatic music begins to play.* Don't try to get in our way, or we will destroy you. Nothing you can do can stop us. We will succeed, or die trying. You will never rise above us, for it is written in the stars that we will rise up as THE HOGWARTS WEST TEAM WITH THE LARGEST COLLECTION OF HELLO KITTY COSPLAY OUTFITS!
...Wait, What?
Oh crud, no, wrong cue cards...
Alright, can we cut? We need to redo it. What? What do you mean, this is the final tape? What, You're serious? I don't even think this is allowed! Hey, no don't you dare-

We will delve into the possibilities found in the book "The Tales of Beedle the Bard", by J.K. Rowling, this semester. It has come to this headmaster's attention that there is one more hidden story within its pages.

For this year's class, houses will each have their own blog page to post to and read. Only members of their house will be able to do so.
